The twingo made the long trip t o Dubrovnik without issues. Très bien !
It’ s pretty slow uphill and ha ving good momentum makes a huge difference. But it doesn’t use any gas whatsoever. I love it.
T hat is all, move along.

You made the right choice for you going with the UCB edition. I gather this was by far the longest trip you’ve taken in it. Lovely scenery in that photo.

What a drive! I got to go to Novi Sad for a week last winter. That picture reminds me of driving out into rural Serbia.

Yay! Who cares about speed, slow car fast, right? :P
Hills can be a problem though....but hey, more time for you to look around at the scenery...? :P

I drove a similar distance the day before yesterday in the J eep. One of those reminders of the difference between Canada and Europe... It wasn’t a particularly long trip, and it definitely didn’t take 9 hours. Pretty near bang-on 5.5.
But good job. It’s always good to know you can trust your vehicle for a decent trip.

Congrats on the roadtrip. My granny was from Dalmatia, but I’ve only been there once. If flights from the US were easier, I’d be back again in a heartbeat — just an amazing area.

9 hours for 553 km? Does ‘avoid tollroads’ also mean ‘skip highways’? My parents live 800 km away, I tend to drive that in 7 hours, breaks included.

Ye p, it does. There are no free highways here. It’s a fast road for most of the route you go around 70 or 80 km/h. But add trucks, traffic and a portion of the way is small country backroads, a long wait at the bosnian border and there you go.

Nice, I drove part of that trip (from Split to Dubrovnik) a year ago. Actually almost to the day a year before your drive. In a rental base Opel Corsa E with probably not that much more horsepower under the hood, so I can imagine the kind of driving along the coast roads. I did take the toll road for some distance as well though... vacation, making best use of the time we had etc. Also didn't have to wait long at the Bosnian border luckily.
I want to go back, haha, it was a beautiful drive on the coast and had dinner in a small town waterside restaurant with one of the best sunset views ever. I'll fly to Dubrovnik soon, but for work and will only be on the ground for like 30-45 minutes :(.
